At the time we were selecting a breed for guardian dogs our family was growing with out first grand kids so we needed a dog that would be gentle with children. Our first Pyr, Precious, demonstrated that
we had made an excellent choice. They are truly "Gentle Giants". We feel the dogs are superior to donkeys or llamas because they guard not only in a "Line of Sight" as
the donkeys and llamas do, but also by hearing and smelling.
Now Herman and ZsaZsa, Paula and Sara are working pairs guarding groups of our goats. Lady has become our house and yard dog. Pups from our Pyrs are now working as guardian dogs and being companions in Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
We are always glad to answer your questions about our Pyrs and to help you with a selection for your needs. Predator control is a necessity in most goat operations. For
this purpose we chose the Great Pyrenees guard dogs because they are excellent with livestock protection and are also great companion dogs.
