Uphoff's Elmer Fudge

FudgeUphoff's Elmer Fudge was born February 9, 2005, a twin. He weighed 71 lbs when we weaned him at 90 days. His sire is Sonora Redneck and his dam is Uphoff's Countess Dracula. Redneck is a red and white paint whose sire was solid red. Countess is a black headed traditional. Her sire was Killdeer, a traditional, and her dam was a black and white paint daughter of Jet Black Lignite. We're really pleased with Fudge's kids. He splatters color all over. In 2007 he sired solid reds, red and white paints, blacks, black and white paints and even a black headed nanny that has dapple spots scattered in her black. Several of his kids' pictures are on our Baby Picture page. Fudge has a great disposition, he's a little bit more of a pet than we would prefer. In 2006 his mother had twin traditional billys that we sold to Aaron Gadeken and Mike & Chris Stork. In 2007 she has a traditional billy and a black nanny. Fudge wasn't quite all shed out when we took this photo on June 8, 2007 but we've been wanting to get a picture of him on the website so you could see why his kids have the quality that they do.

On June 15, 2007, Colorado State University at Ft Collins, CO began a 90 day Meat Goat Buck test with 46 bucks from breeders in 5 states. A son of Fudge's, Uphoff's Goodenberger (shown below), ended up second in the test with an average daily gain of .851 lb. and a weight per day of age of .704 lb, Fudge also sired the 4th and 9th place goats in this test and the winning goat was sired by Uphoff's Ferdinand, Fudge's full brother.

CRR Texas Warrior

CRR Texas Warrior
We purchased this buck from Coni Ross, Blanco, TX in 2006. He was born January 1, 2006, a son Of CONI Warrior who was sired by CONI Mace. Tex's maternal grandfather is also Mace which makes him double bred Mace. We are using him primarily on colored Fudge daughters. His kids are a strong step in the direction we want to go with our goats.

Easter Egg is a sure enough Polka Dot sire. He was born January 11, 2006, a quadruplet. He's sired by Sonora Redneck and out of a Black Headed 1/2 Nubian daughter of Hank. Easter Egg He is 3/4 Boer and 1/4 Nubian and is registered in the new Colored Meat Goat Registry. He has produced about 60% colored kids out of a few colored and mostly traditional nannies. Pictures of his latest babies are on the Baby Picture page and the For Sale page. It looks like he's going to produce his best color out of solid red or solid black nannies. He has a good disposition and will start telling you it's feeding time when he sees you leave the house (even if you just got done feeding him). If you look beyond his wild color you'll see a pretty fine meat goat, so if you want to produce some wild colored 4H wethers or just want to add some color to your commercial breeding program, you could do a whole lot worse than taking one of his offspring home. The last time we weighed him was July of 2008 and he weighed 215# then. Two of his 2008 billy kids are in the first ever Nebraska Range Buck Test near Wauneta, Nebraska. Harry, a red and white paint billy, out of a registered5/8 Boer 1/4 Nubian and 1/8 Spanish nanny (registered as 1/2 Boer) and Harvey, a Polky Dot billy out of our old Little Red nanny are both in the test. You can see pictures of them on the For Sale page and on Bruce Peterson's Website: www.petersonboergoats.com

Here's an Easter Egg granddaughter owned by Billie Jo Ross at McCook, Nebraska. She is out of a red nanny, so you can see how deep the color runs through his genes.
